Woe to the Couch Potatoes – Sep 29 – Homily – Fr Joachim

Fr Joachim gives the third and last homily at Bloomington, IN on Sep 29, 2019 for the MIM Retreat "Spiritual Weapons for Spiritual Combat" on how Amos in the first reading says "Woe to those who are complacent in Zion" which father translates into our modern culture: "Woe to the couch potatoes in America". We need to have a Christlike righteousness which is key to taking hold of our hope for life eternal where we will be happy in heaven with God forever. Therefore, we should try to avoid distractions from the comforts of this world and, instead, keep vigilant.
