In the homily for Tuesday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time (July 23, 2019, also the memorial of St. Bridget of Sweden, Religious), Fr. Andre explains the Marian element of today’s Gospel. To be more Christian, we must become more Marian. Mary is the prime example of how we are to identify as brothers and sisters of Christ Jesus: by consenting always to the will of his heavenly Father. Jesus himself was Marian—born of her and formed by her in his human nature. If we would by “christified,” we must first be “marianized.”
