On the Memorial of St. Pius V (Pope, Apr 30), Fr. Andre talks about the power of the Rosary, gloriously manifest during the Battle of Lepanto. Through Pius V's leadership, Christians appealed to God through Mary and the Rosary, and with her powerful assistance obtained an upset victory over numerically superior Muslim invaders.

Relating Our Lady's involvement at Lepanto with today's Gospel, Father points out that although Nicodemus did not properly understand the concept, he rightly associated the question of being "reborn" with the essential role of Woman. The Christian hope for renewal is connected with fidelity to Our Lady's Fatima request for the praying of the Rosary.
