Fr. Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Mar 31 on how belonging to Christ is transformative by making us more merciful as exemplified by the father in the parable of the Prodigal Son. Sin is bad but so is judgmental attitude that leaves no room for mercy. Father extols the need avoid both extremes of sinfulness and judgmentalism by means of humility. For the sinner it is to humbly see the depths of despair that his sin has lowered him. For the non-sinner is to humbly see that we are not perfect either. The balance is exemplified by the Father who humbly recognizes when he can't help his son but to not enable him with further aid and then joyfully extend mercy when repentance is shown.
