On the Feast of the Espousal of the Blessed Virgin Mary with St. Joseph (FI calendar, Jan 23) Fr. Maximilian explains in the homily how this mystery in the life of the Mother of God reflects the sacredness and indissolubility of marriage and exemplifies the perfection of family life. It shows that marriage is a vocation given by God, and that the intimate union of husband and wife is a way to share God's love and provides the needed condition for the godly rearing of children.
