Pray and Discern God’s Will, Avoid Spiritual Ills – Nov 20 – Homily – Fr Alan
Views 1092
In the homily for Tuesday of the 33rd Week in Ordinary Time (Nov 20), Fr. Alan explains how the readings point to the need to pray and discern God's will in order to avoid the spiritual ills that plagued the Churches of Sardis and Laodicea: activism and apathy.
Sincere prayer leads us, like Zaccheus, to conversion and and authentic living of the Gospel; in other words: salvation. Failure to pray and discern can lead to a practice of religion that is neither pleasing to God, nor beneficial to us and to our neighbor.
