In the homily for the feast of St. Januarius, Bishop and Martyr (Sep 19), Fr. Maximilian talks about the martyr's liquifying relic of blood, a miracle that occurs almost without fail each year, on the saint's feast day. It is a sign that God is watching over us, and should bolster our faith, encouraging us even to martyrdom, despite the corruption we see around us. With God's grace we can overcome.
