Give Self to Gain Freedom – Sep 04 – Homily – Fr Matthias

On the memorial of St. Rose of Viterbo (Virgin, Third Order Franciscan, Sep 04), Fr. Matthias talks about her exemplary Christian selflessness, and how we can learn from her a lesson: to discover our best self, we must give our self to others, and thereby gain freedom from self which otherwise separates us from others.

Every good we have, we have received through God, Who gives it to us so that we might give it away. In that way, we learn to overcome selfishness and discover that the more we give of our gifts, the more God replenishes them.
