Leadership Lesson from St. John Baptist for Our Confused Age – Aug 29 – Homily – Fr Maximilian W
Views 1327
In the homily for the Beheading of St. John the Baptist (Aug 29), Fr. Maximilian explains how St. John’s example of speaking the truth with courage, accepting martyrdom for the sake of salvation in Christ, is a lesson in faith leadership for Catholics today.
The Baptist suffered because he spoke the truth to Herod, even if it meant death. In our day and age filled with lies and confusion, sadly even with the Church, we must go on seeking and speaking the truth, and we must be holy. The solution to our present crisis is not to leave the Church, but to lead it.
