Zeal: Embracing Providence – Jul 17 – Homily – Fr Matthias

 

For the homily on the memorial of St. Francis Solano, Franciscan missionary priest (Jul 17 in the U. S. A., transferred from Jul 14), Fr. Matthias speaks of the zeal with which our saint gave himself enthusiastically to everything he did, with faith in God's providence. St. Francis Solanus saw everything contrary to his will and hopes not as an obstacle but as a path to holiness. In this way, he found joy and peace in life, and he attained sanctity.
