Martyrs for the Word, Eucharist, and Pope – Jul 09 – Homily – Fr Alan

 

Fr Alan gives the homily on the memorial of St. Nicholas Pick and companions (Jul 09), Franciscan martyrs who were asked to deny the faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and to deny the primacy of the Pope as head of the Church. They preferred to remain in the word of Jesus as true disciples and forfeit their lives rather than their salvation. For their fidelity, they were tortured and killed, ultimately receiving the martyrs' crown and eternal life.
