Jul 26 – Homily – Fr Alan: Sts. Joachim & Ann – The Holy “Tree” that gave the Holiest “Fruit”

As St. John Damascene observes, if the tree is known by its fruit, Sts. Joachim and Ann could not be better represented by the fruit of their Holy Matrimony: their daughter, Blessed Virgin Mary. The richness and intensity of her extraordinary natural virtues, magnified by supernatural grace, finds its root in the parents, from whom she received her natural body and initial human formation. Their parental virtues, models for all parents: heroic generosity, humble obedience, wise discernment, loving service as educators.
