Jul 21 – Homily – Fr Elias: St. Lawrence of Brindisi, Sower of the Faith

Fr. Elias on the life of St. Lawrence of Brindisi a Franciscan who is a Doctor of the Church and promoted the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. He was known for his great memory of scripture and mastery of many languages. As such, he was sent out to preach to many peoples, including the Jews who were impressed with his knowledge and memorization of the Hebrew Bible. Fr. Elias exhorts us to go out and preach to non-Christians planting the seed of faith in their hearts as an act of mercy for their immortal souls. We should also strive to foster the seed of faith in our own hearts as well and ask Mary for help in these endeavors.
