Jun 19 – Homily – Fr. William Casey: Merciful Purgatory

Views 3378

Fr. William Casey gives the last homily for a retreat June 17 - 19 at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center called "In Our Lord's own Words: The Divine Mercy" based on the words of Our Lord to St. Faustina that he compiled from her Diary and recorded on a set of CDs he recently published. He explains what purgatory is, its scriptural basis and how it is merciful that God has created it in order for us to be prepared for heaven and live in the holy presence of God. He exhorts us to keep in mind the shortness of life and to live so that we are prepared for death and to pray for the souls of the faithful departed.
