May 31 – Homily – Fr Alan: VISITATION – Mary consoles with charity

In bringing the unborn Jesus to the house of Zechariah and Elizabeth, the Blessed Virgin Mary was the instrument of the Baptist's sanctification in the womb, and of Elizabeth's consolation and joy. Through her charity, Mary spreads the peace of God.

Declaring the feast of the Visitation, promulgated during the Western Schism, was the Pope's way of inviting Mary to visit the divided Church and bring peace to God's children.
