Mar 18 – Homily – Fr. Hollowell: Peace During Persecution

Views 1752

Fr. John Hollowell gives the homily for the 2016 Lenten Day of Reflection here at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center. He reflects on the readings and how Jeremiah and Our Lord are both able to be at peace in the face of persecution. This is what we can do by staying close to the Lord. He relates this to the terrifying persecution Catholics endured during the Protestant Reform as related by Robert Hugh Benson in his book Come Rack, Come Rope and how we are perhaps not too far from similar events.

Ave Maria!
