Homily #150921l ( 16min) Play - Cardinal Raymond Burke reflects on the Gospel account of the calling of St. Matthew. Jesus feeds those who invited him to feast. But Jesus is not the Messiah who would be a worldly leader but to show mercy and the truth which will set us free and give us happiness. We must grow in faith. Our Lady of Guadalupe helps us in this. St. Matthew was an example of a good response to Christ’s call. He was disposed to conversion and became one of the blessed described in the sermon on the Mount. Holy Mass gives us the Eucharist which is the food that is truth.

Cardinal Burke was here to lead a pilgrimage of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre from Minneapolis to La Crosse and to bid farewell to the FI friars Fr. Peter Fehlner and Fra Joseph Schmitzer who are headed to Griswold, CT.
