Sep 16 – Homily – Fr Peter: Practice the Virtue of Humility
Views 1110
Homily #150916l ( 09min) Play - Jesus in the Gospel readings tell us, ‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance. We sang a dirge, but you did not weep.’ Fr. Peter relates this to the vice of pride where they are saying, 'you are not treating us right', or 'Jesus does not act as we want.' But Jesus blessed Mary by choosing her as His mother because of her humility. Pride of pagan religion, with the emperor being worshiped did not lead to his happiness. Martyrs did find happiness and so did Jesus. We should practice virtue in reparation for vices, and so find happiness both here and in life eternal.
