Dec 19 – Homily – Fr Ignatius: The Sceptre Has Passed

Homily #141219 ( 03min) Play - The Patriarch Jacob prophesied that the sceptre would not pass from Judah until the time came for the Messiah (Gen. 49:10).  That is fulfilled when Herod the Great, mentioned in today's Gospel, takes the place of Mattathias as ruler in 37 BC.
