Homily #141028n ( 04min) Play - Father comments on the Gospel of today, telling us that the word "Apostle" comes from the greek "apostolos" meaning "sent." At Our Lord's Ascension, He sent out the apostles to the world, and made them the 12 pillars on which the Church was founded. Although we know little of today's apostles, we do know they preached the Gospel to the pagans, and testified to it with their lives. Like them, we must first come to know the Lord intimately, and then spread what we encounter there out to the rest of the world by our voices and our lives.
