Joachim gives an account of the life and martyrdom of St. Ignatius of Antioch, bishop and martyr, and how he taught his congregation to sing just as St. John, his direct mentor, had heard the heavenly choirs sing during his visions which he recorded in the book of the Apocalypse. Father recounts how he stood up to the emperor Trajan even at the cost of being thrown to the wild beasts in Rome.
