Homily #140528n ( 05min) Play - Father Maximilian comments on the Gospel reading about the sending of the Holy Spirit and how He will guide us to truth. Next he introduces us to today's Franciscan Saint, St. Mariana of Jesus de Paredes, a 3rd order Franciscan who spend her short life in prayer, penance, and charity to others, and who demonstrate the Truth of the Gospel by the truth of good works. When she was about 30 years old, a terrible plague was afflicting her city and she offered her life to God for the relief of the city. Her self-offering was received, and she went to her reward in 1645.
