Mar 06 – Homily – Fr Matthias: Change Your Name or Change Your Life

Views 1604

Homily #140306n ( 10min) Play - Father repeats from the first reading, "I have set before you life and death," and shows how the purpose of freedom is to choose the good, and that to sin is to be enslaved and degraded. God gives us the Commandments in order to show us how to use our freedom; we may disobey them, but like disobeying traffic signs, there will be consequences. Finally, Father encourages us to examine our lives this Lent and see which we are choosing, life or death. He quotes an anecdote when Alexander the Great said to a cowardly captain also named Alexander, "Change your life or change your name." Let us live so to be worthy to be called Christians.
