Homily #131027 ( 00min) Play - The prayers that God is most pleased to hear, and which are the most efficacious, are the prayers of the suffering and the saints - the holy souls who willingly serve God. In the Gospel the pharisee does not recognize his faults, but only the good he has done. The tax collector's humble prayer acknowledges his weakness and doesn't condemn others, for in recognizing our weakness we are better able to understand other's weaknesses.
