Homily #130902b ( 15min) Play - Fr. Elias on Labor Day during a votive mass to St. Joseph the Worker preaches on how Jesus came to set free those who are captives to sin. He reminds us though that the world may not take this message of liberation kindly. He relates this to how manual labor and prayer helps bring about this liberation.

Father, I like listening to your homilies. Thank you! May God come to our help! Our Lady of Perpetual Help, come to our help too!
“For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.” Ephesians, chapter 6, 12
Other day I read the Encyclical Letter QUAMQUAM PLURIES on Devetion to St. Joseph. As Fr. Elias has mentioned him, I would like to share with you all this very interesting encyclical (its link).

Let me quote this paragraph too.
“And for such reasons the Blessed Patriarch [St. Joseph] looks upon the multitude of Christians who make up the Church as confided specially to his trust – this limitless family spread over the earth, over which, because he is the spouse of Mary and the Father of Jesus Christ he holds, as it were, a paternal authority. It is, then, natural and worthy that as the Blessed Joseph ministered to all the needs of the family at Nazareth and girt it about with his protection, he should now cover with the cloak of his heavenly patronage and defend the Church of Jesus Christ.”
