Feb 14 – Homily – Fr Elias: Eternal Life, Pro Life

Views 1174

Homily #130214b ( 10min) Play - Fr. Elias on the Gospel reading of today where Jesus says, "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?"  This sums up the entire spirit of lent and how striving for eternal life is to be pro-life, to disobey God and lose eternal life is to choose eternal death. Having this eternal outlook helps us to see the value of life, eternal life and that we should not put all our hopes in happiness in this life and certainly not forfeit eternal happiness for mere convenience and passing pleasures in this life.
