10min) Play – Fr. Elias on not squandering the graces the God gives us to enable us to work toward our salvation. This is accomplished by having a long term goal of peace with God even if there is some short term conflict in a particular situation. This will not only lead to eternal peace but will give long term peace here on earth.

I have discerned that God’s will for me is to spend most of my waking hours in prayer. My dad does not like this. He thinks I need to get a job. I know what God’s will for me is and I refuse to squander time working at a meaningless job, when so much prayer is needed in the world today. Am I correct in disobeying my dad in this case?
