Homily #120502 (08min) Play - Today's Gospel reading is on the incarnation from an account by St. John the Evangelists who is given the symbol of an eagle because of his high theology. This fits since it is also the feast day of St. Athanasius who is called "Athanasius against the world" becsuse he upheld the doctrine of the Incarnation in the face of opposition from all the Arian heritics of whom so many of his fellow bishops where included due to the influence of the powerful Arian emperor.
