On 2 August, 2011, Solemnity of Our Lady Queen of the Angels, 4 young men began the journey of their religious vocation as they became aspirants at the Marian Friary of Our Lady Help of Christians, Toodyay, WA, Australia. Pictured from left to right are: Br. Gabriel Pophillat (Singapore), Br. Adam Waugh (Newcastle, NSW), Br. Kenneth Gan (Brisbane, QLD) and Br. David Dono (Perth, WA).
The Australian Mission also gives thanks to the Immaculate for the arrival of Fr. Giles Mary who has returned to Australia after a long period of formation in the USA and Italy. Fr. Giles is assigned to the friary of Our Lady Help of Christians in Toodyay, Western Australia and will be assisting in the formation of the aspirants as well as other duties. Fr. Giles celebrated his first Holy Mass at his home parish on 30 July at St. Anthony’s Church in Wanneroo. Fr. Giles was joined by his family as well as the communities of the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Immaculate for this special occassion. When told by several individuals that they were looking forward to seeing him, Fr. Giles replied in his usual good humored way, “I’m looking forward to being seen.” We give thanks to the Immaculate for both the ordination and return of Fr. Giles to the Australian Mission! Ave Maria!
