Views 1304

Homily #100801 ( 14min) Play - Fr Angelo preaches on the Gospel which today is the parable of the publican and the pharisee who pray in the Synagogue. Father gives the context of the parable which is the hypocrisy of the Pharisees who accused Jesus of breaking the sabbath but then broke it themselves by plotting His death on the the Sabbath. He compares this to  the failures of people in authority today both in the Church and in society as a whole and how this causes cynicism against all authority especially in regard to fatherhood that is increasingly put down in today's society. But cynicism is not the answer for we will be judged on our own merits and focusing on others' faults as the Pharisee did in the parable will bring a similar judgment upon us.
