Homily #100731 ( 22min) Play - In today's Gospel Herod has John the Baptist beheaded. Fr. Bonaventure compares the lives John the Baptist with that of Herod. John's life stands as an ideal that leads to heaven. Herod's life stands as warning against a life of decadence, spent in frivolous luxury and broken marriage vows which leads to Hell, and so is a most pertinent waring to our modern culture.
