Ave Maria!— July’s Theme: Temptation
“Let us listen to what the language of the saints is regarding temptations and for you it will be enough to know that which the great St. Francis de Sales says: that temptations are like soap, which when diffused on the clothes seems to dirty them, while in truth it purifies them.”
Thank God for the laser clarity of Padre Pio’s words and help in regards to temptation, trials and tribulation. I don’t know how I could expect less. He himself was trialed, tempted and experienced tribulation and spiritual warfare continually. These trials refined the gold of spiritual wisdom given by our Lady and our Lord to pass on to us. His words fill me with hope and send a light down the tunnel of these dark times.
These are days that I sorely need this wisdom. Our Lord himself said that my people perish for lack of knowledge. He has given us knowldege through this great saint. Saint Frances DeSales likewise has great clarity particularly in the area of seeing the nature of our own temptations and how to overcome them. With hope, let us put those who harass, persecute, opress and oppose us in the Sacred Heart of our Lord and the Immaculate Heart of our Queen. In charity, and armed with the True Body and Blood in the Blessed Sacrament, the wisdom of the saints, the blessing of the sacrament of reconcilliation if we fall, and the intercession of our brothers and sisters we surely will overcome both interior and exterior trials.
