“Remember that you can maintain the peace of soul even in the midst of all the tempests of the present life. Know well that it essentially consists in harmony with our neighbor, desiring for him every good; it consists still in having a friendship with God, mediating sanctifying grace. And the proof of being united to God is that moral certainty of not having mortal sin, which weighs on our soul.
