Ding-Dong the suicide bill is dead. Seems Sen. McDonald and Rep. Lawlor are having their difficulties since they tried to destroy the Catholic Church in Connecticut last week. Their pet bill, SB 1138 for assisted suicide, was pulled yesterday after a huge outcry from the citizens of CT. Given this bill was probably one of their key moves in their seemingly relentless crusade for the culture of death, it shows how badly their political health has been damaged. From Senator Michael McLachlan’s blog:
“Death With Dignity” is Dead?
The assisted suicide bill from co-chairs Senator McDonald and Representative Lawlor, scheduled for a public hearing before the Judiciary Committee on March 20th, appears to be dead for this session. The reason for pulling SB1138 off the agenda is reported to be “clerical error.” Read more on his blog
Praise God!
Ave Maria!
I am new to this activist stuff and am trying to learn how to navigate through the State’s website. I’m so glad about Friday and was pleasantly surprised at Sen. McLachlan’s wisdom .. .I was beginning to think there was no wisdom left at the capitol! I’m hearing that there’s another bill of concern being proposed on Thurs but i cannot find it anywhere. Is there a bill number for that one? Does anyone know?
Jen
Jen – it’s Raised House Bill 6452 – and Act Concerning Discrimination – and it covers transgendered people, among other issues. If you search for it on Google, there are plenty of liberal websites telling the transgendered individuals to be at the hearing.
here’s a link to the CT General Assembly with info on the bill:
