“Meanwhile, I am sure you desire to know what the best abjection is, and I tell you that it is that which we have not chosen ourselves, or that which is less welcome to us. Or to explain it better, those towards which we feel no inclination, to speak clearly, that of our vocation and profession. Who will grant me the grace…of our loving our abjection? Nobody can do this except He who greatly loved His own, so that in order to preserve it He willed to die. Enough.”
