Ave Maria!— December’s Theme: Humility
“…in Latin, abjection is called humility, and humility – abjection, as when the Most Holy Virgin says in the Magnificat: ‘for He has regarded the low estate of His Handmaiden’, She means to say because He saw my abjection and faintheartedness. Nevertheless there is some difference between the virtue of humility and that of abjection, because humility is the recognition of ones abjection. Now the highest degree of humility is not only to recognize ones abjection, but to love it. This is what I have exhorted you to do.”
