Ave Maria!
Well, you’ve probably noticed a reduction in posting recently. This is because we have been busy, switching to a new server. The traffic became too large for the previous server to handle. The switch was made on Monday evening and we have been working out the minor kinks ever since. Some of our earlier videos are still not on line but will be soon.
The new server is compliments of Hyperdo Webdesign. This company has been a great help with general technical help as well, all pro bono for us poor Franciscans. So, if you need some web design work please give your business to Hyperdo. The owner is a devout, pro-life, Catholic with a large family.
They are also working with our friar design team in implementing our new front page layout which should be finshed by the end of December. In the meantime, the new server has made a noticable improvement both in how fast the web site loads pages and the speed at which the videos are streamed to you. Also the pace of posting should pick up again.
Although the site is provided free, the video storage and streaming is on a third server which is not free and will cost us some money. So, please be generous with the donations. As usual we try keep our expenses low. As a case in point, the video server, although not free, is about one third the cost of other servers and we pay only for what we use. So a small amount of donations goes a long, long way and every donation helps. May God reward you.
Deo Gratias!

Anyone notice a difference in speed?
I haven’t noticed much of a difference yet but that could be because I’ve learned WHEN to do airmaria stuff … I’ve been trained to work around the slow server issues. I have noticed, however, that the videos aren’t pausing as much while watching so that surely has improved.
