As sad as selling the churches is, the comments after the article are even more scary.

  • Fr Angelo says:

Yes, Corrin, the last acceptable prejudice is anti-Catholicism.

Wow… I agree, the comments were unbelievable. Sometimes I feel I need to get my head out of the sand. I read and hear about the anti-Catholicism …. certainly it’s in the news of what they choose to cover or what they choose NOT to cover. Hollywood certainly sends some ulterior messages in their movies and shows. I guess I always say .. “T.V. … garbage … Hollywood loonies, or whatever. ” But to actually see these very specific comments from specific people, it’s eye-opening.

I can’t help but wonder if we really did some awful stuff and we’re now reaping what we’ve sowed or if we’re truly being innocently persecuted.

As far as the loss of these churches, it’s a crime. There’s really nothing that they can ‘become’ that wouldn’t be shameful … even a religious museum (which is the best of the options) is still a disgrace in a way. But, for them to become a mosque or some ritzy restaurant or condo is painful. Again, my head was in the sand about this.

Are they serious? I’m surprized that the people who wrote those nasty comments weren’t struck by a lightning bolt.
