“There does not exist a painting or a statue of the Immaculate in which the serpent does not likewise appear. After all, in Sacred Scripture too, we not only read, ‘She shall crush thy head‘, but also, ‘thou shalt lie in wait for her heel‘ (Gn. 3:15). And this comes about in every soul that wants to draw close to Her and in every house that wants to labor for Her.
