Fr. Bonaventure Maria explains that some people use today's Gospel to justify living two lives. One day a week for God, and the rest of the week to enjoy the pleasures that this world holds out to them. This is not what Our Blessed Lord meant by saying "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and give unto God what is God's".

In fact, if we live by the principle that Our Lord meant to convey in this Gospel, i.e. to give unto God what is God's first, then we will become good citizens of the nation and we will even try to help Caesar in order that he may govern the nation in accord with the will and the mind of God.
