In today's readings, Jesus speaks a parable on the history of the people of Israel. Over and over, God sent prophets to call Israel back to Himself, and over and over their leaders stoned the men of God and put them to death. Such was their response when the Father sent His Son to the same ungrateful vineyarders. By murdering Christ, the chief priests, scribes, and Pharisees took up the torch of their ancestors and nailed their own coffin shut. Fr. Angelo explains the lesson for us in this parable: we will be blessed and happy in as much as we follow the will of God & hand over to Him that which belongs to Him which, in a word, is everything.
