Today we honor the little-known apostle, St. Matthias: "Clement of Alexandria says that Matthias, like all the other apostles, was not chosen by Jesus for what he already was, but for what Jesus foresaw he would become.?? [Quote from Catholic Online] Fr. Bonaventure tells us that if we are to sum up the mission of the apostles, it is to bring the Mother of God to all mankind so that they may come to possess the gift she intends to give: Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Son of Mary.
