Video – Fr. Angelo – Homily: Love Means “Walking the Walk” in Complete Generosity

??Love one another as I have loved you.?? Our Lord gave us this new commandment of love that we hear of in today's gospel. Very often our own concept of love is entirely inconsistent with the love Our Lord spoke of. His is a love that can be practiced only when one is in the state of grace.

It is wrongly asserted by some that the beatitudes have replaced the 10 commandments as the "new moral code??. In reality, the beatitudes are the fruit of living out those same commandments. Our Lord raised the bar in regards to what He expects of us, He didn't lower it, & He promises to give us the strength to live His commandments out of love & to do the right things for the right reasons. Those, like the saints, who love & love generously make good on every single opportunity that comes their way. We have every reason to forgive, every reason to be long-suffering & to be generous as they are, for nothing brings more peace & tranquility, nothing is more beautiful, than a heart that is generous & free from selfishness.
