In today's readings, we hear of the revelation of God's Law to His people. The revelation of God's Law is the revelation of His own mind and the revelation of His love for those who belong to Him. God's Law is not an oppressive barrier that restricts us from enjoying life; it is a fence that protects us from our own disordered passions, a the boundary between happiness (in this life and the next) and misery (in this life and the next). As G.K. Chesterton once said, "Whenever you tear down a fence, always pause long enough to discover why it was put there in the first place.?? Our culture has done much to tear down God's Law without reflecting on how it got there or why it's relevant to modern man. Let's pause long enough today to listen to Fr. Angelo open our hearts to a truer understanding of the necessity of God's Law and it's fulfillment in the coming of Christ.
