Homily #100905 ( 35 min) Play – In today’s Gospel Our Lord tells us that we must love Him above all things and be well prepared in our engagement with the world. He tells us this in the form of two parables, the building of the tower and the king who contemplates going into battle. Fr. Bonaventure explains this in the context of Catholic action, where our preparation consists in building up our love of, and trust in, God who has forces vastly stronger than the enemy and that action starts with prayer and contemplation and only secondarily with physical action. Father also outlines the many ways that we are in true, open and explicit battle with the modern culture and philosophy, always relating it back to its spiritual nature.

Homily #100829 ( 13min) Play – Will we follow Him? Fr. Angelo Geiger preaches on today’s Gospel where Our Lord admonishes us to live a sacrificial, spiritual life and not be worried about things of this world. For as the Gospel states, the Lilies of the field which work not nor spin not are clothed by God more gloriously than Solomon. He points out that to not follow this basic spiritual discipline is to live inconsistently when so many follow harder discipline in the secular corporate world.

MaryCast Specials #70 ( 10min) Play – Dr. Mark Miravalle points out the many natural disasters, including earthquakes and volcanoes, as well as man-made disasters like the global economic crisis that we are experiencing. Dr. suggests that God is trying to get our attention, to not think that we can be in total control. We must, in fact, trust in God, not ourselves, and one way to do this is honoring His mother by proclaiming the 5th Marian Dogma.

Homily #100416 ( 05min) Play – Fr Ignatius preaches on the blessings that we have in Pope Benedict, how he has been acclaimed as perhaps the greatest theologian pope in the history of the Church. His encyclical Caritas et Veritate is so sensible as a world plan for peace, social justice and prosperity that one wonders why he is being targeted by the global mass media. Father relates this to today’s Gospel:
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet. 15 Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
