This miracle of growth from the tiniest of seeds  occurred by the action of God in the form of miracles and also by the action of men in the witness they gave by practicing their faith to a heroic degree. Jul 20 – Homily – Fr Angelo: Three Parables on the Kingdom

Sunday, July 20th, 2008
Click to Play

Homily #080720 ( 22min) Play – Fr. Angelo preaches on the Sunday Mass at the end of our Encampment Weekend for the Knights of Lepanto. The day’s Gospel has three parables of the Kingdom of God, the Field with the Wheat and the Weeds, the Mustard Seed, and the Yeast and the Bread. These parables that are agricultural in their details hark back to the fall which involved good and bad fruit, and so, underscores how salvation comes to us in the same way that the fall happened but in reverse. Listen as Father explains how this refers to our need to battle temptations in our life, to uphold family life and how this fits with the role of the Knights of Lepanto.

Jul 13 – Homily – Fr Angelo: Parable of the Sower

Sunday, July 13th, 2008
Click to Play

Homily #080713 ( 19min) Play – Fr. Angelo Geiger preaches on the Parable of the Sower, explaining that Jesus is doing three things with this parable, He gives the parable, explains the need for parables and then explains the parable to the disciples. Father focuses on the fact that Jesus needed to use parables due to the hardness of our hearts and, of coarse, this is bad news because the parable itself likens hard hearts to the hardened path which was not receptive to the seed of the Words of Life. Let us pray to Our Lady, the Virgin Earth, the Fertile Ground to help soften our hard hearts and so be able to bear a rich fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.
