Fr. Joachim

Apr 24 – Homily – Fr Joachim: Only Through Jesus

Thursday, April 24th, 2014
Click to Play

Homily #140424n ( 00min) Play – Father Joachim comments on today’s Gospel, showing how the disciples, even though they knew of the Resurrection, were still afraid and confused. Likewise, many Christians are afraid of showing their faith as our society becomes more and more hostile to Christ. Father encourages us to put our faith in practice, for Jesus is risen from the dead, and if we don’t live the faith, how will it spread to the many who are still in darkness?

Apr 20 – Homily – Fr Joachim: Hope and the Empty Tomb

Homily #140420n ( 14min) Play – Many fear death in today’s world, but, as Father reminds us, we need not fear death, but prepare for it, particularly by preparing for the Judgement we will all undergo after we die. Thankfully, as Father also reminds us, God desires to pour out His mercy on our sinful and broken world, and the primary place we receive this mercy is the confessional! It is there we are cleaned and made ready to meet God. We do have hope, because on Good Friday, it looked like sin and death had won, but on Easter morning, mercy triumphed over sin and the tomb of Jesus was empty.
