Sorry no homily from Griswold[more technical difficulties] As we start the season of Advent and so a new liturgical year Fr. Ignatius explains how the yearly cycle of seasons is a reflection of heavenly routines. But, if things seem to be a bit routine down here, don’t worry, in Heaven all things will be eternally new. +++ |
Ave Maria! Bill O’Brien, President CT Right to Life, discusses with hostess Corinn Dahm the health care bill on this show recorded on live television. He covers the problems with the bill including the fact that there is no explicit denial of abortion funding which is needed since the Hyde Amendment does not cover this bill. He also mentions how there are no conscience clauses in the bill so medical professionals who morally object will find it hard to opt out. And then there are Catholic Hospitals… Ave Maria! |

Ave Maria! YouTube – Hymn by Chaldean Catholic Priest-Martyr in Iraq. A viewer sent this to me from his YouTube site, beautiful. Let us pray for our Iraqi brethren. Hear the voice of a Christian Martyr singing a hymn in Arabic to the Blessed Mother, while watching a slideshow of his funeral mass. Hear the angelic voice of Father Ragheed Ganni, a 35 year old Chaldean Catholic Priest killed on Sunday June 3rd, 2007 with three of his deacons right after celebrating mass at Holy Spirit Chaldean Catholic Church in Mosul, Iraq. The car of Father Ragheed and the three deacons was stopped by terrorists shortly after leaving the church. They were forced to get down from the car and asked to declare their conversion to Islam. When the four martyrs refused they were brutally gunned down with machine guns. Lord, protect all the innocent people of Iraq and all those trying to defend them. Jesus we trust in you and we are sustained by the prayers of your most holy mother to whom you never refuse a request. We pray for the repentance and conversion of Father Ragheed’s killers and all other terrorists. May she who gave birth to us at the foot of the cross beg you for mercy. source: www.ankawa.com The hymn translated in English is: We honor you with hymns O Mother of God, you are the pride of the whole earth, because the Word of God whom the Father sent, chose to take His human body from you. The generations call you blessed, all nations and people’s honor you and ask for mercy by your prayers. You are a generous earth in which plants of joy always grow. |
