Homily #091030ms ( 12min) Play – “All things, O Lord, are in thy power, and no one can resist thy will” (Esth. 13:9). The people who persecute us are just creatures. They can touch the body, but they can’t touch our souls.. It doesn’t matter if they take away our lives, because they can’t take away the life of grace from our souls. If we live and die in the grace of God, then we’re safe, we’ve got everything, we’ve got our ticket into paradise..

Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord, that Thy faithful people may ever rejoice in honoring all Thy Saints, and may be defended by their unceasing prayers (post-communion prayer, Solemnity of All Saints).
After Holy Communion has been received during the Mass for the Solemnity of All Saints, the priest asks Almighty God that the prayers of the saints be a defense to all the faithful. All the saints are our elder brothers and sisters who have been victorious over sin and death through Christ’s death and resurrection. Their garments have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb (cf. Ap 22:14). They have passed through the fire and have come out the other side unscathed (cf. Dn 3:26). Now they are present to us in the Holy Spirit as our defenders and protectors. (more…)

One Minute Meditation
St. Jude Thaddeus is the patron saint of impossible causes. We turn to St. Jude in times of despair and seemingly hopeless causes, including depression, grieving, unemployment, and sickness, and ask for his intercession.
A Prayer for the intercession of St. Jude (Feast Day is October 28th)
+
MOST HOLY APOSTLE ST. JUDE THADDEUS faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of the enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so needy; make use, I implore you of that particular privilege accorded to you to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings particularly (here mention your petition) and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O blessed Jude to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.
St. Jude is often shown holding an image of Christ in his hand. Many times there is a flame of fire above his head showing the Pentecostal descent of the Holy Spirit upon him and also he is often shown carrying a club for tradition has it that he was clubbed to death in his martyrdom. St. Jude, pray for us!

Homily #091028m ( 10min) Play – “Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God” (Lk 6:12). Even Our Lord Himself shows us that before any big decision, one of the things that we should always do is to pray.. to listen to that voice of God in our hearts and strive to respond..

Homily #091027ms ( 17min) Play – “Hope that sees for itself is not hope..
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait with endurance.” (Rom 8:24-25) If we were to see God, we would possess Him. Since we don’t see God, we don’t possess Him, but we wait in hope..

Homily #091028 ( 11min) Play – Saint Simon the Zealot or the Zealous, was the name this Apostle bore among the twelve. He preached in Egypt, Mauritania (Spain), and Lybia, leaving behind him the fertile hills of Galilee, where he had been engaged in the healthful cultivation of the vineyards and olive gardens. He later rejoined his brother, Saint Jude, in Persia, where they labored and died together. At first they were respected by the king, for they had manifested power over two ferocious tigers who had terrorized the land. With the king, sixty thousand Persians became Christians, and churches rose over the ruins of the idolatrous temples.
But the ancient enemy, who never sleeps, rose up, and when the two went elsewhere the pagans commanded them to sacrifice to the sun.
They prayed for mercy for the people and offered their lives to God. Saint Simon told the crowd that their gods were only demons, and ordered them to come out of the statues, which they did, revealing themselves under hideous forms. But the idolaters fell on the Apostles and massacred them, while they blessed God and prayed for their murderers.
