Today I tried something and it was a total failure so there is no homily for today. But the good news is that I think I solved the audio problem for the future. Homily #140820n ( 05min) Play – Father Maximilian asks us whether God is unjust, and then answers, no, He is not, even if He does seem to favor some over others. In reality, He owes us nothing, has already given us all we have, and the very fact we exist is proof of His continual loving concern. Even suffering is a sign of His love, it is not so naturally, but since He became Man and suffered for us, we can find Him in the midst of our own suffering, and by accepting and embracing the cross, manifest our love for Him. He does love us, how much do we love Him in return.

In the homily for the memorial of St. Denis (Oct 09), Fr. Matthias explains that a person has to first be prepared through the providential circumstances of his life before God sends him out to evangelize. This is seen in the example of St. Denis as well as that of St. Paul.

Before setting out to evangelize, they first stored up treasures of knowledge and love to share. So it must be for all who today would engage in the New Evangelization.

On the Memorial of St. Raymond of Pennafort (Dominican, priest – Jan 07), Fr Maximilian relates the Gospel message of repentance to the life of St. Raymond and to our own call to belong to Jesus’ Kingdom of Heaven. We are created and placed in this life as a test, to prove our fidelity to God and His holy will; Jesus tells us what we need to do to achieve victory in this trial: repent, be converted, and follow the Gospel.
